| Does Airbnb collect it? | The county says Airbnb has remitted TOT for bookings since 2017, and Airbnb-only hosts may, but aren't required to, file. Check your Airbnb payout reports: our founder's export showed no county tax, which he's confirming with the county. Vrbo and direct bookings: you file. |

| Registration / permit | TOT registration required before renting, renewed each January (Code §5.04.060). No separate Planning permit in unincorporated areas, but the unit must be a permitted residential use. Town of Truckee permits don't apply. |
