Rules owners miss
- One certificate per dwelling unit. Two homes need two certificates.
- You don’t have to display the certificate inside, but the exterior sign and every advertisement must show the certificate number.
- Airbnb and Vrbo do not apply for the certificate for you; the county FAQ says so plainly.
- You also need the state DBPR vacation rental license and a Walton TDT account.
- Closing out? Deactivate every listing first, or the county still treats the home as a short-term rental.
